Extracurricular Activities

  • International Tiger Day was celebrated on 29th July 2022. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Nanaji Deshmukh Veterinary Science University - Prof (Dr) Sita Prasad Tiwari sir attended the event and planted sapling in the campus of School of Wildlife Forensic and Health. International Tiger Day is celebrated every year on 29th July. This is also known as Global Tiger Day which was first proposed at the Saint Petersburg Tiger Summit in Russia in 2010. Many Nations became signatories of an agreement to protect the tigers. These nations included thirteen tiger range countries including India.
  • One day National webinar on “Wildlife Forensics: Updates and Challenges” was organized on 29th June 2021 which had lectures from Dr Ajay Gaur (Sr. Principal Scientist & In-charge – Wildlife Forensics, LaCONES-CCMB, Hyderabad) and Shri Ritesh Sarothiya (DCF & OIC – Special Task Force (Wildlife) & State Tiger Strike Force (Government of Madhya Pradesh). Students and Professionals from various veterinary colleges joined the webinar and interacted with the speakers.
  • One day workshop on the topic - "जैविक पदार्थों का संकलन, परिरक्षण एवं प्रयोगशाला प्रेषण" was organized for the frontline workers of Madhya Pradesh forest department on 29.10.2021. The participants were given hands-on training on collection and preservation of various biological samples of wild animals for further dispatch to the forensic laboratory.
